A release article published July 31, 2026 and crediting its content to ByteDance Seed states that the team officially released Seedance 2.5. It describes the model and says it is rolling out to Jimeng AI and Doubao Pro, while API service on Volcano Engine Ark will arrive soon.

Why search results still look contradictory

Search indexes preserve pages written before the release and pages serving different markets. During our July 31 check, ByteDance release material said rollout had begun, while some English provider pages still displayed “coming soon,” a waitlist, or an older model in the visible generator. Both observations can be true if rollout is staged.

How to check your access

  1. Open the official or authorized creation product for your region.
  2. Sign in through that product’s normal flow.
  3. Open video generation and inspect the model selector.
  4. Require the exact label “Seedance 2.5”; do not infer it from the page title.
  5. Record any plan, queue, country, or invitation condition shown.

What “API coming soon” does and does not mean

It supports planning for future integration. It does not provide a model ID, stable endpoint, price, quota, service-level commitment, or permission to route production traffic through an undocumented interface. Developers should wait for Volcano Engine Ark documentation and console availability.
